Takoma JazzFest 2013

For 2013 Takoma Park Jazzfest is introducing the entire family to the beauty of jazz!  This year the festival will stretch to two full days. On Saturday June 8, there will be all-day free jazz workshops at the Montgomery College cultural Arts Center for kids of all ages and their families.  On Sunday June 9, JazzFest moves to downtown Takoma Park on two stages with continuous performances from 11 AM to 6 PM.  


On Saturday June 8 JazzFest is offering free workshops to
involve all ages in the jazz experience. There will be Jazz-singing for elementary kids, featuring Lisa Yves Jazz for Kids, instrumental jazz technique workshops for students from middle-school age to adults, and followed by two concerts.  The workshops and concerts will be held in the Cultural Arts Center at Montgomery College's Takoma campus,7995 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring; there is parking or use Metro.  Directions at http://cms.montgomerycollege.edu/CAC/AboutTheCenter.
 Workshops and concerts are underwritten by the City of Takoma Park and the Cultural Arts Center.

The Free 18th Annual Takoma Park JazzFest is Sunday June 9 from 11 AM to 6 PM with continuous live performances on two stages.  The Fest is only a two block stroll from the Takoma Metro Station. Featured performers include the all-star 20-and-under Philadelphia Jazz Orchestra, the Army Blues jazz band, knock-out vocalist Lynn Veronneau, and Univ of Marland jazz program director Chris Vadala.
