Prepare to think, laugh and wonder at a double feature screening of some of Woody Allen's most iconic films: Annie Hall and The Purple Rose of Cairo.
The winner of four Oscar awards, Annie Hall is Allen's neurotic discourse on love, sex and the director himself. At times hilarious, nonsensical, romantic and tragic, this is truly one of the greatest and most sincere films to ever touch American screens. Even those who don't find Allen's style (or personal life) all that appealing, will find in Annie Hall a brilliant reaffirmation of what it means to be in love.
Set in the Great Depression, The Purple Rose of Cairo explores the thin line between fantasy and reality while acknowledging the power of film to act as an escape from daily life. Unhappy housewife Cecilia (Mia Farrow) finds herself in the middle of her own movie-worthy adventure when the male lead of her favorite film, Tom Baxter (Jeff Daniels), steps off the silver screen and into her life.
