Frugal Family: Five Deals to Stretch the Family Budget

Welcome back to our weekly rundown of five local deals to help with your family’s bottom line. Since we do the scouting, we save you time as well as money.

We scoured our local sources this week and rounded up summer meal savings, including a deal to cool off by, week night dinner specials--and a free burger! Plus, a buy-two-get-one free clothing deal (get a jump on back-to-school!) and more. Remember to check with the merchant for additional conditions, if any:

1. Cool Meal Savings: I-Hop, , 7405 New Hampshire Ave., 301-434-8204.

Deal: Come cool off at I-Hop and save--during the heat and power outages, they're offering $5 off your total bill with this coupon.

Good through: July 31.

2. Mid-week Meal Deal: , 1201 Fidler Ln., 301-563-4020.

Deal: Every Tuesday and Wednesday, Cubano's offers a three-course special Cuban dinner for $22.95. Meal includes soup or salad, appetizer and entree, plus a beverage (soda, ice tea or regular coffee).

Good through: Ongoing on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, starting at 7:00 p.m.

Deal: Ruby Tuesday's is giving away a free burger with the purchase of two beverages, when you "like" them on Facebook.

Deal: Purchase any two regular-priced items in the store and get a third item free (of equal or lesser value).

Good through: Ends August 3, 8:00 pm. Offer good in-store only.

5. Car Wash: Mr. Wash, 7996 Georgia Ave., 301-495-9335.

 Deal: Treat your car to their Ultimate Car Wash for only $5.99 with the Valpak coupon (regularly $12.50).

 Good through: August 7.
