Whether you want to take part in Chinese New Year celebrations, get the family trying some Latin dance moves, practice some French with the kids or experience a fun Sabbath for the family, Takoma Park has a variety of cultural experiences for parents and kids to enjoy.

Where/When: opens its doors to the whole family on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: If you've got a little one who'll be entering kindergarten in the fall, this is a chance to find out about a local school.

Where/When: Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Seeker's Church
Why Go: If you've been hesitant to take the kids to a service because they'll get bored or just won't be able to sit still, this service is probably what you've been looking for. Enjoy some community time at the potluck dinner, as well.
Pricing: There is no charge for this event, but each family is asked to bring a vegetarian potluck dish.

Where/When: Get your dancing shoes on and head over to on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: Have a blast dancing, and help out the fourth-graders at Rolling Terrace Elementary School.

• FRENCH CIRCLE TIME
Where/When: On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., Madam Marie will be leading the French fun at .
Why Go: You don't need to travel all the way to France for the kids to get some exposure to French language and culture. Learn a few French phrases, songs and stories without even stepping on a plane.
