One meat:

According to the discriminating palates at Zagat, the best pizza in all of Maryland is the bacon and clam pizza at Baltimore restaurant Joe Squared, Patch reported.

Three sides:

Former burrito chain owner Tony Brown will open French-Southern fusion restaurant macon bistro & larder at 5520 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC, this spring, "bringing a combination 60-seat restaurant and market to the former Chevy Chase Arcade," Washington Business Journal reported.

Restaurant and bar Roof Bethesda is slated to open on Dec. 28 at 7940 Norfolk Ave. It's meant to be an upscale drinking and dining destination, and not a college or sports bar, Bethesda Magazine reported.

Bethesda Magazine's Carole Sugarman also recently reported on new Takoma Park restaurant Republic (6939 Laurel Ave.).

"At Republic, (a play off the city’s nickname, 'The People’s Republic of Takoma Park'), executive chef and partner Danny Wells will be turning out a contemporary American menu with lots of vegetarian options, as well as the Black Restaurant Group’s signature oysters," Sugarman wrote.

The Cheesecake Factory's North Bethesda location has relocated to the Westfield Montgomery mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda, The Wall Street Journal reported.
