Former burrito chain owner Tony Brown will open French-Southern fusionΒ restaurantΒ macon bistro & larderΒ at 5520 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC, this spring, "bringing a combination 60-seat restaurant and market to the former Chevy Chase Arcade," Washington Business Journal reported.

Restaurant and bar Roof Bethesda is slated to open on Dec. 28 atΒ 7940 Norfolk Ave. It's meant toΒ be an upscaleΒ drinking and dining destination, and not a college or sports bar, Bethesda Magazine reported.Β

Bethesda Magazine's Carole SugarmanΒ also recently reported on new Takoma Park restaurant Republic (6939 Laurel Ave.).
"At Republic,Β (a play off the cityβs nickname, 'The Peopleβs Republic of Takoma Park'), executive chef and partnerΒ Danny WellsΒ will be turning out a contemporary American menu with lots of vegetarian options, as well as the Black Restaurant Groupβs signature oysters," Sugarman wrote.

The Cheesecake Factory's North Bethesda location has relocated to the Westfield Montgomery mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda,Β The Wall Street JournalΒ reported.
