• Takoma Park reviews new construction exemption period for rent stabilization policy (mdstatewire.com) — Takoma Park is weighing three options to change how long new rental buildings stay exempt from the city's rent stabilization rules, and residents can weigh in at a community meeting Oct. 12 at the Community Center or via Zoom. Proposals range from keeping the current five-year exemption to extending it or tying it to whether existing housing was demolished.
