Sound Of Shots Fired In Takoma Park: Police

TAKOMA PARK, MD — Detectives with the Takoma Park Police Department are investigating the sound of shots fired near Poplar Avenue Wednesday night.

At about 11:05 p.m., police responded to the area of Washington McLaughlin apartments for the sound of shots fired. Officers canvassed the area and found no evidence of shots having been fired, but they did find a series of smoldering fireworks in the rear parking lot off Circle Avenue, police said.
