Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested In Takoma Park: Police

A DC woman was arrested on a slew of charges for allegedly cutting a man's throat with a knife in Takoma Park, police said.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A Washington, DC woman was arrested on a slew of charges — including attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and malicious destruction of property — in Takoma Park, police announced Tuesday. (Subscribe to Takoma Park Patch to stay up to date on all local news.)

At about 12:42 p.m. Monday, police responded to the 6300 block of Eastern Ave., Takoma Park, for the report of a dispute between a male and a female.

Arriving officers discovered that Oluwafunmi Gbolade, 23, allegedly tried to cut the male victim's throat with a knife. A caller told police they saw Gbolade throw a knife and flee the area, police said.

The male victim suffered from a non-life threatening knife wound and refused transport to the hospital, police told Patch.

A canvass of the area led to the apartment where the Gbolade lived, and the victim positively identified her. Gbolade was arrested and transported to the DC Jail. A warrant for her arrest by Takoma Park was granted, police said.
