UPDATE: Pregnant Woman Stabbed to Death, Man to Be Charged

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A woman who died from stab wounds suffered in an attack at a Takoma Park apartment Wednesday was pregnant, police said.

The Takoma Park Police Department was called to the 600 block of Houston Avenue about 2 p.m. Officers found an injured man near an elevator in the nearby lobby.

Shortly after, police found a 36-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. The female victim was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

WJLA reports that the man will be charged in the woman's murder.

Authorities will release the name of the victim once relatives have been notified.

The injured man underwent surgery at a local hospital. He has not been identified by authorities, and his relationship to the victim has not been shared.

At this point, police do not believe there is any danger to the community.
