• Baltimore, MD: Local Cyclist Joe Letke Remembered by Friends and Bike Shop Community (theunionstar.com) — A memorial service for local cyclist Joe Letke will be held this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship Church on Deereco Road in Timonium, with friends inviting anyone who knew him to attend. Neighbors are also rallying around his wife Kim and their children through a GoFundMe campaign that's already raised thousands to help with funeral costs and living expenses.
   

• Remembering Father John Gerard McGowan, longtime San Alfonso Retreat House staff member (trentonmonitor.com) — Father John Gerard McGowan, a longtime Redemptorist priest and retreat leader, died September 18 at St. John Neumann Residence in Timonium. His funeral services are being held this week in Long Branch, New Jersey, honoring decades of ministry, writing, and preaching that touched parishioners from Brooklyn to Philadelphia and beyond.
