Alex Cooper Auctioneers to Host Public Auction Jan. 25
At the auction, the public can bid on distinctive jewelry, oriental rugs, collectibles, and art, including a Lichtenstein piece
Alex Cooper Auctioneers, one of the largest auction houses in the mid-Atlantic, will host a public auction on Sunday, Jan. 25 at its gallery in Towson, Md. During the auction, the public will have the opportunity to bid on fine-quality items from different countries and time periods, including: unique antiques; modern and quality reproduction furniture; American and continental paintings and sculptures; silver; jewelry; porcelain; oriental rugs; and other collectables.
Below is a sampling of extraordinary items that will be available for auction:
· Notable artist Roy Lichtenstein’s benday dot “Mao” lithograph, in color, signed and dated. This piece is 23 x 16 7/8 in. and framed.

· Federal Chippendale style walnut tall-case clock, circa 1815. This timepiece features a painted dial enclosed by a broken arched bonnet with three carved finials and floral termini, and reeded quarter columnar supports.
· Chinese export porcelain vase, second half 19th century. The vase has a mountainous river scene decoration, signed with character mark, 24 in. height.

Buyers are invited to visit the gallery and preview items before the auction during an exhibition on Thursday, Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
