Barnes & Noble Sets Closing Date In Towson

There will be a party for the community on Towson Barnes & Noble's last day.

TOWSON, MD - The next chapter is coming for the storefront that has for years housed Barnes & Noble on Towson Circle.

The Joppa Road store will be closing after business on Saturday, June 10, store representatives told Patch.

There will be a celebration on that day for community members to say goodbye to their beloved bookstore.

In the meantime, much of the store is running a 50 percent off sale. There are some items that remain full price. What does not sell will be shipped back to Barnes & Noble.

The bookseller's closure comes as Retail Properties of America plans to redevelop Towson Circle. Already, Trader Joe's moved its location to make way for the construction project, which calls for high-rise apartments.

Once the store closes on June 10, the closest Barnes & Noble locations will be in White Marsh, Pikesville and the Inner Harbor.
