BCPS Makes Changes To School Calendar For 2020

The last day of school has been pushed back, and there are two changes to the school calendar in February.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Baltimore County Public Schools is making a few adjustments to its calendar for the school year. One is a closure and another is a tentative reversal of a holiday. Due to the closure, the last day of school has been shifted.

Schools and school offices will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 4, for the special election to fill the open congressional seat left by the late Congressman Elijah Cummings. Previously, that had been a school day.

Schools and school offices will be open on Presidents Day, which is Monday, Feb. 17. This will make up for the school system's closure Dec. 16. Officials said that the Presidents Day closure is contingent on approval from the Maryland State Board of Education.
