Beltway Police Chase Suspect Linked to Kentucky Deaths: Officials

Police in Kentucky found gruesome discovery when Baltimore County requested check on address.

The person killed Saturday morning in Essex after a police chase was driving a vehicle connected to a triple homicide in Kentucky, the Baltimore County Police Department reported Saturday night.

The individual who led police on a chase from Woodlawn to Essex Saturday morning was a “juvenile with connections to Corbin City,” Baltimore County police reported.

The suspect was driving a Honda Pilot registered to an address in Corbin City, Ky., and when police asked law enforcement there to check the address, Kentucky police found multiple people dead at the residence, the report said.

The deceased—identified as Sarah and Kevin Hendrix and their daughter, Grace—may have been dead since Wednesday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.

All were killed by gunshot wounds, and their son—Jason, a junior in high school who was a member of ROTC and attended church—was the one killed in a gunfight with Baltimore County police on Saturday, the Corbin News Journal reported.

Police in Baltimore County said the boy had not been positively identified as of Saturday evening.

“Baltimore County detectives are working with Corbin City law enforcement to determine the link between what happened in Kentucky and what happened in Baltimore County,” according to a statement from Baltimore County police.

Sarah Hendrix, the boy’s mother, was an associate professor of social work at Union College in Barbourville, Ky., according to WJZ. Kevin Hendrix was a beekeeper, The Baltimore Sun reported.
