Towson Courthouse Reopens After Bomb Threat: Police
Authorities said district courthouse was evacuated for several hours Tuesday.

The District Court in Towson is reopening at noon Tuesday after a bomb threat led to a three-hour closure, according to police.
Authorities evacuated the courthouse and relocated prisoners after the court received a called-in bomb threat at 8:44 a.m., the Baltimore County Police Department reported.
Police searched the courthouse and parking garage, and closed several streets in the area as officials investigated.

Before 11:30 a.m., police reportedly cleared the scene, having found nothing suspicious.
Courthouse operations will resume at noon.

This is not the first time there has been an evacuation at the courthouse on Chesapeake Avenue. There was a bomb scare at the Towson courthouse in May 2011, and WBAL reported the courthouse was also closed in December 2014 after a bed bug discovery.
