Feds Arrest Suspect in Crash That Killed 1-Year-Old

The driver allegedly involved in a fatal crash on Moravia Road that killed a 1-year-old boy as he sat in his stroller at a bus stop has been arrested in North Carolina, according to reports.

Wayne Anthony Green Jr., 38, is suspected of hitting a Baltimore County police cruiser in Rosedale, then giving chase to Moravia Road, where he allegedly caused a crash that killed the toddler Nov. 1, according to Baltimore Police.

Green was taken to shock trauma with minor injuries, police said.

He was released from the hospital and on Wednesday, authorities could not find him, according to WNEW.

Green was arrested in Wilmington, N.C. by U.S Marshals, police said Saturday, reports The Baltimore Sun. Extradition to Maryland is pending, police said.

Green is wanted for negligent manslaughter with an automobile, attempt to elude police by failing to stop, driving on a revoked license and driving without a license, Baltimore Police report.

Police said Green, of the 3400 block of Mayfield Avenue in Baltimore, was driving a Mercedes CL550 that sped through a red light on northbound Moravia Road at Sinclair Lane, hitting another car.

The Volvo spun, jumped the curb and hit people waiting at a bus stop, according to police.

Jeremaih Perry, 1, was thrown from his stroller at the bus stop onto the driveway of Parkside Shopping Center, Baltimore Police said. He was taken to the Johns Hopkins Pediatrics ER, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Police said officials did not file charges immediately against Green to ensure they avoided double jeopardy, since Green was allegedly fleeing the scene of another crash, where he had hit a Baltimore County police cruiser on Pulaski Highway, when he was speeding on Moravia Road.
