“We are proud to be once again recognized as one of the best colleges in America,”
said Kent Devereaux, Goucher College president. “Global education, social justice,
and innovation are the foundation of a Goucher education, so we are especially honored
to be recognized as leaders in each category. We are also excited about several innovative
new programs we are launching this year in partnership with other top-tier colleges
and universities that will further position Goucher as a national leader in higher
education.”
This year, Goucher launched eight new interdisciplinary majors, each rooted in the
liberal arts and focused on student success in the global economy. The innovative
majors include education studies, engineering science, French transnational studies,
integrative arts studies, integrative data analytics, literary studies, professional
and creative writing, and visual and material culture.

Building on the new undergraduate majors’ launch, Goucher College and Johns Hopkins
also announced a new dual-degree program that offers Goucher undergraduate students
a combined bachelor’s and master of science degree from Johns Hopkins Carey School
of Business. The new 4+1 program allows Goucher students to select any undergraduate
major and explore graduate work in business analytics and risk management, information
systems, health care management, finance, or marketing.
These new accolades from U.S. News & World Report are in addition to numerous other recent recognitions. The Princeton Review named Goucher as one of the best Northeastern and green colleges, and as having one
of the most popular study abroad programs in the country. Washington Monthly also included Goucher in its list of top 2020 Liberal Arts Colleges as well as Best
Colleges for Student Voting.
