Hopkins' Director of Health Policy Named to Arc Baltimore Board

The Arc Baltimore has elected Nicki McCann, Director of Health Policy for Johns Hopkins Government Affairs, to its Board of Directors.

The Arc Baltimore has elected Nicki McCann, Director of Health Policy for Johns Hopkins Government Affairs, to its Board of Directors.

In her current post, McCann focuses on State operating and capital budget issues, health care financing, Medicaid, and public health.

“Nicki’s strong background in health policy and health care financing, as well as her knowledge of the State budget process, will be a tremendous asset to her work on our Board,” says The Arc Baltimore’s Executive Director, Stephen H. Morgan. “She has a deep understanding of the many challenges facing our organization and, undoubtedly, will be an important resource to us.”

Prior to joining Johns Hopkins, McCann served as committee counsel to the House of Delegates Committee on Appropriations. She was previously an attorney at Funk & Bolton, practicing in the areas of public finance and government relations. She also worked with the Maryland Economic Development Corporation.

McCann earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Randolph-Macon College and her law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.

McCann is one of five new Directors recently named to The Arc Baltimore Board. Self-advocate Seth Burdine, who conducts satisfaction surveys for The Arc Baltimore and serves as a receptionist at The Arc’s Woodlawn Center, and Jill M. Vocci, O.D., a pediatric and adult optometrist at Dankner Fiergang Eye Associates, were named to the Board in May.

Erik Daly, Senior Vice President at PNC Institutional Asset Management and Managing Director of PNC Capital Advisors, LLC, and Jigisha C. Hanel, Director of Risk Assurance at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, recently were named to The Arc Baltimore’s Board of Directors.
