I often get asked what do I need to do to brave the hot, humid summer of running, but remain on a positive vector with regards to training.
Well, the answer is two-fold, preparation and consistency. First, you need to ensure you hydrate throughout the day, take advantage of running in the lowest temperatures (if your schedule allows), and lastly listen to your body (heart rate, train 10-20% easier until acclimated, and less stretching). Next, you have to continue your training regime and by keeping to your 3-day-a-week or 6-day-a-week training schedule your body will adjust to the heat. The same applies in the winter, even more so.
