Joppa Road Reopens After Smoke on Building: Police

The road was closed for investigation, Baltimore County officials report.

A stretch of East Joppa Road was briefly shut down Monday morning so the fire department could investigate a report of smoke, according to Baltimore County public safety officials.

The smoke was located on the roof of an apartment building, according to the Baltimore County Police Department, which reported it was determined that the cause was equipment.

East Joppa Road was closed between Fairmount Avenue and Virginia Avenue, police reported at 9:11 a.m. on Monday. The road reopened by 9:30 .m., the report said.
