Point Breeze CU Helps Volunteer Fire Co. Buy New Engine

Point Breeze Credit Union has donated $10,000 to the Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Company to help offset the cost of its new fire engine.

The engine, a 2018 Pierce Enforcer pumper truck with a six-person cab and a 1,000-gallon water reserve, was put into service in November 2018. The new engine replaced a fire engine originally purchased in 2001.

“As you might imagine fire trucks are very expensive and get a real workout,” explains Chief Kevin Roberts. “This was something the Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Company badly needed, though, in order to continue to properly serve the local community as we have done for the past 120 years.”

Chief Roberts continues, “We couldn’t continue to do what we do – responding to thousands of calls for fires, car accidents, and medical emergencies, not to mention fire safety education and support for local residents and businesses – without the support of the local community and organizations like Point Breeze Credit Union.”
