Police Officer Caught Up in Baltimore County Prostitution Sting

Men from Eldersburg and Timonium were also charged with prostitution during a Baltimore County vice sting.

A Baltimore City police sergeant was one of four men arrested Wednesday night in a prostitution sting in Baltimore County, reports WBAL TV.

County police said the men solicited prostitution and offered money to undercover detectives.

Sgt. Kevin Simmons, 40, is among those charged. The other three men were identified a Timonium man; Trevor William Joseph Barnes, 44, of Mount Airy; and Mark Kane, 48, of Eldersburg, the TV station says. 

The four men taken into custody were charged with two counts of prostitution, and three were released on their own recognizance.

Kane, who also faces drug charges, was held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $5,000 bail.

Simmons has been assigned to the Neighborhood Patrol Bureau in the Western District.
