Radcliffe Moving From Towson Mall To Shops At Kenilworth

The high-end store reportedly has plans to move to a specialty shopping center.

TOWSON, MD - A jewelry store in Towson is reportedly making a move out of Towson Town Center. Radcliffe is relocating to the Shops at Kenilworth in 2018.

“After careful consideration of all our options, it became clear that The Shops at Kenilworth is perfect for us," Radcliffe Jewelers CEO John Shmerler said in a statement Wednesday.

The jewelry store will move to the Shops at Kenilworth when its lease expires in Towson Town Center in September 2018, the Baltimore Business Journal reported.

Radcliffe decided to leave the location where it has been for 38 years in response to customers who did not want to travel to the mall off Dulaney Valley Road, according to the journal, which said that the Shops at Kenilworth was considered more convenient in part due to its smaller size and parking configuration.

"The combination of a terrific location and a complementary tenant mix is very attractive," Shmerler said. "We are excited about creating an exciting new store atmosphere for our guests and continuing our longstanding commitment to serving the Towson market."

Other tenants at the Shops at Kenilworth include Ruth Shaw boutique, South Moon Under, About Faces Day Spa and Salon, Jos. A. Bank, Stebbins Anderson, Quiet Storm Surf Shop and ZenLife Yoga, among others.

Radcliffe is not the first business to move north of the mall in Towson; Trader Joe's relocated from the Towson Circle area in March to the Shops at Kenilworth, where a $20 million renovation project is underway to modernize the interior and exterior and make way for new tenants.

"We are thrilled that one of the area’s most respected retailers will be joining this highly anticipated renovation," said Brian Gibbons, chairman/CEO of Greenberg Gibbons, which owns the Shops at Kenilworth.

Radcliffe signed a lease for 5,687 square feet at the center off Kenilworth Drive and will also continue to operate its location at 1848 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville, officials said.

The jeweler sells diamonds; crystal; watches; china; handbags; and brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Bvlgari, Chanel, Shinola, Forevermark, Marco Bicego, Elizabeth Locke, Roberto Coin, TAG Heuer, Mikimoto, Temple St. Clair, Omega and others. Appraisals, design and repairs will also be offered.
