Sen. Cory Booker Addressed Towson's Goucher College Class Of 2020

During Goucher College's virtual Baccalaureate ceremony, Sen. Cory Booker shared an
uplifting message with the Class of 2020 on May 21, 2020.

"Class of 2020, you are not defined by a pandemic. You are not defined by the challenges
of this era. Every day you define yourself. This world needs you to show up; it needs
your love, it needs your grace, it needs your beauty, it needs your genius, it needs
your moral imagination," Booker said.

Booker celebrated the Class of 2020 as "agents of hope." His address focused on the
power of kindness and being an active participant in the community. His work emphasizes
the importance of community, service, and education, which ring true to Goucher's
community principles.

Speaking about the accomplishment of graduating, Booker said, "Despite the challenges
of this age we are in, this is a time of celebration, of adulation, a time truly worthy
of joy."

The Baccalaureate event offered the Goucher community the opportunity to gather, reflect,
and celebrate together virtually. The Class of 2020 Commencement ceremony has been
rescheduled to take place on campus on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
