Seventh Annual 4 Pete's Sake ALS Foundation Charity Golf Tournament Honors Riverdale Man Lost to ALS

Come on out and show your support for the ALS community!

On Friday, April 24, more than 100 golfers will participate in the 7th annual 4 Pete’s Sake ALS Foundation Charity Golf Tournament at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course. This tournament is held annually in memory of Pete Catucci of Riverdale, who passed away from ALS in April 2009.

ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to paralysis and eventually death. There are approximately 30,000 people in the US living with ALS, and the average patient survives only two to five years following his or her diagnosis. There are no effective treatments and no cure.

It was important to Pete that people living with ALS have a voice, and this golf tournament is one way of honoring Pete and giving “voice” to all those living with the disease by raising funds for ALS research and patient care. The golf event hopes to raise $50,000 this year, funding ALS research being done at the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS.net) and patient care and services provided by the ALS Association DC/MD/VA Chapter.
