Sprouts Announces Opening Date In Towson

TOWSON, MD — Sprouts Farmers Market has announced when it will open for business. The grocery store will welcome customers to its Towson location on July 25.

The business will open at 803 Goucher Boulevard.

The more than 30,000-square-foot store will specialize in organic, fresh, natural items. A deli, butcher shop, fish market as well as vitamins and supplements department will be incorporated into the design.

The company was founded on the principles of living clean and eating healthy. In accordance with that, it has a goal of zero waste. To work toward the goal, Sprouts in Towson will give unsold groceries that are still edible to the Maryland Food Bank. Food that can't be donated will be given to local cattle farms and composting facilities.

Sprouts, which is headquartered in Arizona, has nearly 300 locations across the country. The Towson store will be the second Sprouts Farmers Market in Maryland; the other opened in Ellicott City in March.

Here are some of the deals associated with the grand opening in Towson on Wednesday, July 25:

• The first 200 shoppers will receive 20 percent off their purchase.
• A free reusable bag will be given to each customer with purchase.
• Every 15th shopper will receive a coupon book filled with Sprouts savings.

The deals will continue on July 28 and July 29 with these offerings:

• Saturday, July 28 — The first 200 to check out will get a coupon booklet for five free deli items.
• Sunday, July 29 — Every 15th customer will get a coupon for $5 off their next $15-or-more purchase.

To celebrate its entry into the area, he Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation will donate $20,000 to Living Classrooms, a nonprofit that operates the Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students (BUGS) after school program. BUGS helps provide nutrition education to Baltimore youths through gardening, cooking and creative activities.

For the grand opening in Towson, a line will start forming at 6 a.m. on July 25, and coffee and muffin samples will be provided for those waiting. Sprouts is at 803 Goucher Boulevard in Towson.
