Giving Tuesday, a global movement built by individuals, families, organizations, businesses
and communities in countries around the world, is the inspiration for TU’s own effort,
also held on Dec. 1.

Nky S. McGinnis, Ph.D., director of the annual campaign, said members of the TU community
can support any of the six colleges within the institution, Cook Library, athletics,
the Office of Inclusion & Institutional Equity, BTU–Partnerships for Greater Baltimore,
the student emergency and food insecurity fund, faculty & staff emergency fund and the
TU Fund.

“This is the season of gratitude and generosity, and it is important to acknowledge
that there are those who are struggling during this pandemic and even more so during
the holidays,” McGinnis says. “Here at Towson University, we always help when we can,
so for this year’s #givingTUesday, we are supporting our students, faculty and staff
in need. We are thankful for our successes, we are thankful for our opportunities
and, most of all, we are thankful for each other.”
