Towson Parking Meters Are Free for Thanksgiving Weekend

Nine days of free parking are in store from November to December to boost Baltimore County economy during holiday season.

In a show of support for local businesses and their patrons, Baltimore County government is giving drivers a break this Thanksgiving weekend.

Approximately 1,735 parking meters will be decorated with festive bags in Towson, Stoneleigh, Parkville, Overlea, Dundalk and Essex indicating they are not accepting payment, according to a statement from Baltimore County government.

“This time of the year it is especially important to support Baltimore County’s locally owned shops and restaurants,” said Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz. “We’re doing our part with free parking meter holidays so shoppers can help keep the neighborhood economy going strong.”

The meters will be free from Thursday, Nov. 27, to Sunday, Nov. 30.

Next month, they will be free from Saturday, Dec. 20, to Thursday, Dec. 25.
