Towson Tree Lighting Brings County Together

Santa and Mrs. Claus rode in style to the Towson 2016 Christmas tree lighting.

TOWSON, MD — Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived by firetruck in Towson Friday evening to help usher in the holiday season. Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and the Clauses presided over the lighting of the county's official Christmas tree at Olympian Park.

The George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology Chamber Choir performed at the event. And with the flip of a switch, the tree display lit up crowds gathered in the brisk 40-degree evening.

Free hot chocolate and pastries after the tree lighting ceremony helped people stay warm at Santa's Workshop, located next to Barnes & Noble, as the Perry Hall Middle School Choir and Anna Apicella School of Dance performed.
