Many people are justifiably concerned about the recent series of criminal incidents that culminated with last night’s shooting in the downtown area.
Over the past two weeks, our office has been in almost daily communication with Captain Landsman from the Towson precinct. The incidents were serious even before last night’s shooting.

I can tell you a few things:
The Towson precinct now has officers on loan from other commands. There is additional coverage throughout the area, and particularly in communities that have been hit the hardest. The total number of officers in the Towson command exceeds 120 individuals.
The precinct is communicating closely with the Baltimore City Police Department.
Outreach to our Citizens on Patrol units has increased, as well as to the Towson Chamber of Commerce, Towson University, major commercial properties, and other stakeholders.
Everything is at a heightened state of scrutiny.
Please continue to support our police with any tips about criminal activity, and please remain vigilant. The Towson precinct Web Site is available here:http://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/Agencies/police/pc06.
Thank you for your support of our police, your neighbors in Towson, and the businesses and other establishments that make our community great.
