Leading up to the game, on Jan. 8 and 9, members of the Towson University men’s and women’s basketball teams, and Doc the TU Mascot, will visit two BCPS schools. In keeping with the BCPS systemwide emphasis on literacy across all content areas, BCPS students will prepare for the visit by writing about their goals for 2018. The Towson University student-athletes will come prepared to share their aspirations for the new year and to talk about the importance of setting and keeping goals.

These events are part of an ongoing partnership between Towson University Athletics and Baltimore County Public Schools. Last month, Towson football provided free transportation, admission, and meal vouchers so that hundreds of BCPS JROTC members could attend a Military Appreciation Day game against Rhode Island. Next month, Towson basketball will do the same for a Military Appreciation Day game against Elon on Saturday, Jan. 27.
