Truck Driver Dies After MTA Bus Crash: Police
One of the drivers involved in a major crash on Joppa Road Tuesday has died, police said.
An Essex man died after his pickup truck crashed into an MTA bus in Towson Tuesday afternoon, according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
John Gallagher, 56, of the 900 block of Ashbridge Drive, died early Wednesday morning at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, police reported Thursday.
Gallagher was hospitalized after his Ford F-150 crossed East Joppa Road and hit the driver’s side of an MTA bus, according to police.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:52 p.m. Tuesday, and authorities said they were continuing to investigate the collision Thursday morning.

Police said Gallagher had been driving eastbound on East Joppa Road Tuesday when when his truck drifted across the center lane and hit a westbound MTA bus that was in the right lane next to the curb.
The driver of the MTA bus was evaluated and its solitary passenger was uninjured, police reported.

ABC 2 News reports that the pickup truck turned on its side after the crash.
Police said Joppa Road was shut down for several hours Tuesday afternoon as a result of the collision.
