TU Housing & Residence Life Reaches Agreement For Off-Campus Housing

Towson University has reached an agreement with Aspen Heights, a new off-campus apartment
development, to provide additional near-campus housing for students during the upcoming
academic year.

With physical distancing measures implemented across campus—including reduced density
in some residence halls and closures of other residence halls for safety purposes—TU’s
Department of Housing & Residence Life completed a deal for more TU resident students
to live in the apartments at 101 York Road.

“TU is excited to welcome back students to campus this fall,” said Kelly Hoover, assistant
vice president of student affairs. “This new opportunity is just off campus and expands
TU’s ability to provide a high-quality residential experience for its students. We
expect student residents will be thrilled with their experience at Aspen Heights.

The 14-story facility is part of more than $1.7 billion in private and public development
less than a quarter-mile from the TU campus. Aspen Heights features fully furnished
residences with outdoor entertainment and lounge areas. The apartments are two- and
four-bedroom spaces with private bathrooms attached to each room. Virtual tours are available online.

To be considered for housing at Aspen Heights, students must complete the University
Housing Off-Campus Apartment Interest Form on the student housing gateway. Students who are 21 and older with junior or senior status will have priority.

Hoover said all university housing students will be on the same floors with resident
assistants. In addition, there will be a residence life coordinator providing oversight
and university resources. Leases for the apartments will be for 10 months, starting in late August and ending
in late June, with students billed directly to their student bursar’s account.
