Wintry Mix Expected in Towson Tuesday: Weather Service

Warmer temperatures will plummet as a cold front moves through, National Weather Service reports.

Don’t let the temperatures fool you—while the high in Towson on Monday is in the low 60s, rain and sleet are likely Monday evening followed by snow Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

There’s a 30 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m. and an 80 percent chance of snow and sleet overnight, according to the forecast for Towson, which indicates a low of 33 degrees. Winds may gust up to 23 mph.

There’s a 90 percent chance of snow and sleet Tuesday morning, turning to rain after 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the forecast says. In Towson, snow and sleet are expected to be minimal, with less than half an inch of accumulation projected, according to the weather service.

The cold front moving through northern Baltimore suburbs Monday night will continue to pass through the area with possible accumulation on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service, which put Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties on notice.

Tuesday’s temps should be in the mid 30s in Towson.
