Anne-Marcelle Kouamé of Germantown, Maryland was a recipient of the prestigious ASSE International Student Exchange Programs 100% Walter Danielson Scholarship and spent her exchange year in China. Anna, native of Côte d’Ivoire already is fluent in French and English. She is a member of the Asian Students Association Club, Key Club and the French and Science Honor Society. Anne says, “We should not use our cultural differences as a reason for conflict, but instead we should use our cultural differences as instruments of harmony and peace.” Anne looks forward to representing the African and American cultures, developing her passion for science and languages while increasing her understanding of a new culture.
