I feel like you're already hating the title, and by extension, me and everything I stand for.
Because everybody thinks skittles are awesome. They're colorful, you can eat them, you can throw them at people (but then you still have to eat them because you can't waste them) and they are generally just awesome.
I would like to point out that M&Ms are also colorful and magical and people seem to think they're awesome too. I know people that bake them in brownies, cookies, put them in chocolate milk, ice cream, milk shakes, and I watched one idiot stick them in chicken noodle soup because he "Liked the flavor of chocolate and chicken".
Back to Skittles though, they're just a candy. I don't even think they taste that good. I've had them a few times over my life and I'm just happy they didn't kill me.
Here it comes: you're ranting and raving at your computer right now, calling me an idiot and a moron, because I don't like the coolest candy you've ever had. If this was a chess board, you're calling "check mate" and telling me i'm wrong. If this was a computer game, you just shot me and are screaming for more.
So here's my ambush:
I'm allergic to food coloring.
Just like that, we can be friends again, because you've just realized that i'm not threatening your worship of that candy that you love. I'm like the little brother in the corner playing with matchbox cars, innocent and unaware of the awesomeness that you believe is Skittles.
The real point of this is an appreciation of the human spirit, the fact that we find the littlest things to identify with and cherish. It's those little things that keep us going and make the world a better place.
