Done Deal?

It's summertime, right?  So everyone is someplace else and who wants to talk about "serious" things?

Me.

Take the Costco gas station for example.  Please - take it.

Costco is a great company, right?  Hires a lot of people and pays them.  According to Ike Leggett, it pays them about $25,000/year.  Which really goes a long way in MoCo.

Costco gas is cheap, right?  Well maybe not THAT cheap (shop at Giant or Safeway and you get a break on gas at other stations, so the gas is pretty cheap at those stations).  But it is REALLY convenient to buy gas at Costco.  If you are a member.  And have the right credit card, and don't mind waiting in line, and don't need to check the air in your tires, or wipe you windshield, or....

Anyway, the crazy civic activists who are fighting the gas station (well actually they are only fighting WHERE the gas station will be placed in Westfield's Wheaton Mall) haven't got a chance, right?  It's a done deal, right?

Maybe not.  Sometimes we can learn from History.  If we can remember - way back to about 20 years ago.

Wonder how much they can learn from History.  What about everybody else who thinks Costco is a great company and that the gas station is a done deal.  Can THEY learn from history?
