Why Go: The popular crafts festival is back with a new theme: the Artful Outdoors. The selection - at 250 artisans, also includes live music and interactive shows Middle Earth Studios, including its "Smoking Dragon Marionette Show” for the younger festival goers.

Pricing: $7 online, $9 at the door, free for kids under 12

Where/When: Strathmore, April 8, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Be “Fearless” - a.k.a. how you say Sin Miedo in Englsih. A salsa band from D.C., an 8-piece orchestra perfmorms music in Spanish and French. Drink specials in the first hour.

Pricing: $12 at the door.

Where/When: Various locations, including Wheaton Claridge Park. April 9, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Why Go: Rock Creek is a huge part of the area, why not spend a Saturday morning helping to clean it up. Volunteers will have trash bags and gloves on hand.

Where/When:  Wheaton Regional Park, weekends, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Why Go: Have your kids celebrate the beginning of warmer weather with a ride on the Miniature Train and Carousel.

Pricing: $1.75 per ticket

Where/When: Brookside Gardens,  April 9, 2 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Over a thousand flowers, all in bloom. If you love daffodils, this is the place to go on Saturday.
