Why Go? You’ll be doing two things: enjoying yourself at Wheaton’s newest pub and supporting Rebuilding Together, the non-profit that rehabs homes for low-income owners (particularly the elderly and those with disabilities). 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Rebuilding Together. Door prizes and tee-shirt giveaways all night long.

Why Go? There must be something in the water. At least that’s what I observed when looking into this phenomenal fish convention. c, or aquarium fish, seem to have an insatiable fan base (“Aquarists”, F.Y.I.). You can watch this to see what kind of wacky enthusiasm I’m talking about. Even if you’ve never owned a goldfish, this event can take you to new (and possibly dangerous) depths.

Why Go? Kids learn about art through story time and express their own vision in a painting. Then, they’ll have their masterpieces framed and ponder aesthetics over a snack.

When/Where: July 22 and 23, 8 p.m., Silver Spring Stage
Why Go? This intense character study of mental patients should be experienced in person, and not just by watching the classic film.
Pricing: $20 General Admission; $18 Seniors (65+); $18 Juniors (under 18)
When/Where: July 23 and 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 22222 Davis Mill Rd Germantown (Butler's Orchard and 11 other Farms in Montgomery County, please see web site)
Why Go? Support your county out in the country! Visit a dozen beautiful farms, enjoy fresh produce and flowers. Pony rides, petting farms, music, demonstrations, and games will make you forget all about the Beltway.

Why go? Enjoy a soothing, soulful Sunday afternoon of outdoor jazz. Featured artists include Janine Gilbert-Carter and Trio, Kim Mills and Arnold Sterling.
Pricing: $20 (bring your own lawn chairs)
When/Where: July 24, 6 to 7:30 p.m., 1400 Glenallan Ave, Wheaton
Why Go? Connect with nature and put your pencil to the paper. Using different art materials, you’ll create pictures of Brookside’s beautiful flora and fauna.
Pricing: $10 registration required (ages 13+)
