When/Where: July 8, (also July 22nd) 11 am to 12 pm, 

Why Go? Kids get the chance to express their own creativity while learning about art through story time. They’ll create their own Van Gogh sunflower pots to take home.

Why Go? This isn’t meeting your gal pals at TGIF’s. It’s imbibing spirits and conjuring muses to make art, aka “Wine and Design” by the good people at Color Me Mine.

Pricing: $5 studio fee, BYOB

When/Where: July 9, 2 pm to 3 pm, 

Why Go? Kids will learn about the history of fire and enjoy its most essential function-cooking delicious snacks.

When/Where: July 9, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, One Veterans Place, Silver Spring

Why Go? You can help this charity by bringing new or gently used pairs of shoes for those in need (2 pair minimum). Games, refreshments, and mini-manicures will rejuvenate your soul in this sole endeavor.

When/Where: July 9, 10 am to 3 pm,  10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda (The Mansion at Strathmore)

Why Go? 180 pieces of fine contemporary work in a range of mediums from the region’s most innovative artisans. Program will include a Children’s Talk & Tour at 10:15 a.m. and an Art Talk & Tour for adults at 1:00 p.m.

When/Where: July 10, 2 pm to 6 pm, 916 Ellsworth Dr, Silver Spring, MD

Why go? Expand your awareness of disabilities with this enlightening afternoon. Family-friendly activities, comedy sketches, and new technology exhibits will educate and entertain.

When/Where: July 9, 10 am to 12 pm, ,700 Fallsgrove Dr, Rockville

Why go? An adorable day of pre-schoolers indulging in all things tri-cycle: decorating their three-wheelers, riding in a parade, and navigating an obstacle course. Is it possible the even their own parents can stand this cuteness?    

Pricing: $5 resident/$7 non-resident
