It looks like spring is nervously poking its head out to check if its alright to come outside. This weekend, unfortunately will be the rainy side of the season. Why Go: If you’re a MCPS parent, student or staff member, take advantage of a discounted ticket for the Wizards' game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. A portion of the ticket proceeds will go back to MCPS, specifically for the Back to School Fair.  Student groups will sing the National Anthem on center court.

Pricing: $22 upper level, $60 lower level

Where/When: March 4th and 5th, 8 p.m. 3710 Mitchell St, Kensington, MD 20895

Why Go: Kensington Arts Theater presents a musical with a timeline twist. The Last Five Years is the entire story of a marriage told from the beginning to the end and back again.

Pricing: $13 t0 $20

Where/When: March 3rd, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: You don’t have to be from the West Coast to appreciate the simple joy of designing and painting your own pottery. The friends and family night has a flat rate per table, capped at four people.

Pricing: $15 studio fee per table.

Esperanza Spalding in Concert

Where/When: March 4th, 8 p.m. Weinberg Center for the Arts 20 West Patrick Street, Frederick, Maryland.

Why Go: The winner of the Best New Artist Grammy peforms songs from her debut Chamber Music Society. The cello soloist has performed at the White House and the Nobel Prize Ceremony, so take the opportunity to catch the same great music in less lofty circumstances.

Pricing: $27.50 to $37.50

Cymbeline

Where/When: Shakespere Theater Company’s Lansburgh Theater,  March 3rd through the 6th at 8 p.m.; March 5th and 6th at 2 p.m.

Why Go: It’s the last weekend for this production of one of Shakespere’s later plays. Cymbeline includes all the classics of Shakespere: forbidden love, mistaken identities and a little bit of magic.

Pricing: $37 to $88
