Why Go? The Hyattsville Arts district is serious about making a name for itself in the DMV’s creative community. This festival is a promising indication of its direction. Catered by Busboys and Poets (and many more), and featuring a diverse musical/dance lineup, this should be an amazing art party. Fifty local artists, from a wide variety of mediums, will be showcasing and selling their work.

Why Go? Ok, I’m realizing that I’m about to endorse yet another amazing festival occurring on the same day as the aforementioned two. But having too many choices isn’t necessarily a bad thing. That said, Panafest is your fast ticket to Africa. An extravaganza of culture, this celebration welcomes all to absorb the continent’s accoutrements. It’s just too bad that you have to choose only one of the festivals to go to… Wait! What’s this? All three are all-day affairs?? And two of them are in Silver Spring?! In that case, I think I could endorse one more festival for this Saturday. Nah, we’ll leave it at three. For now.
