• Car thefts spike in Montgomery County, bucking state and national trends (thebanner.com) — Car thefts are surging in Montgomery County, with Wheaton's District 4 recording 322 stolen vehicles in the past year, one of the county's three biggest hotspots. Police say many thefts involve juveniles and can be tied to other crimes, and they're urging residents to use tools like steering wheel locks, GPS trackers, and better parking habits to reduce risk. 
• Old Mill Middle School South PTA Named National School of Excellence (southernmarylandchronicle.com) — Wheaton High School's PTA has been named to the 2025–2027 National PTA School of Excellence cohort, spotlighting strong family-school partnerships in Montgomery County.
