Salsa Comes to Wheaton This Friday Night

Local Salsa band Sin Miedo will perform at the Wheaton Downtown Summer Series on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m.

Sin Miedo, a 10-piece local salsa band founded by Kensington resident, Didier Prossaird, will play in downtown Wheaton this Friday as part of the Urban District's . 

Prossaird grew up in Paris and lived in the Caribbean before settling in the United States in 1995. He created Sin Miedo in 1998 and has been performing with the band ever since.

Sin Miedo performs a mix of original and classic Salsa songs. They sing lyrics both in Spanish and French. The band members have shared the stage with popular musicians including Tito Puente, Santana and Marc Anthony.

Prossaird said that his band, “likes to play music for anybody that likes to dance.” Sin Miedo, which translates to “without fear,” also played atthe Taste of Wheaton last year. Prossaird said that he looks forward to playing Friday evening. “It is such a treat to see people dance.”
