Amazon Wants To Hire 1,600 In MA During Holiday Season
The part-time, full-time and seasonal jobs may come with bonuses and pay near $20 per hour for some.

MASSACHUSETTS — With the 2022 holiday season approaching quickly, Amazon is going on a nationwide hiring spree — including more than 1,000 jobs in Massachusetts.
Seattle-based Amazon says it wants to hire about 1,600 locals for full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs this fall. Some jobs pay $19 or more per hour, and some offer sign-on bonuses between $1,000 and $3,000, according to the company.
Some jobs pay more. For example, the company was seeking warehouse associates in Plymouth with base pay of $21 per hour with a $1,000 signing bonus, according to the company's hiring website.

"Whether someone is looking for some extra money for a few months or a long-term career, the holidays are a great time for people to join Amazon, and many of our seasonal employees return year-after-year or transition into full-time roles," Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations John Felton said in a news release.
As of Tuesday, the company had openings at warehouses across Massachusetts, including in Worcester, Northborough, Bridgewater and Norwood.

Amazon has recently reduced its presence in Massachusetts. In late August, the company said it would close five warehouses in Milford, Dedham, Everett, Randolph and Mansfield. The former Milford site will be turned into a base for Amazon warehouse robots, with only about 20 employees on site.
