Summer dining is underway across the Commonwealth with patios, waterfront venues, rooftop bars and brand-new restaurants giving Bay Staters plenty of places to try.
Whether you're looking for waterfront seafood on Cape Cod, rooftop cocktails in Boston or a new patio in Central Massachusetts, there's something for everyone.
Patch has put together a list of some of the best places to eat across the Commonwealth this season.
In Boston, the summer dining scene includes some new and returning outdoor options.
Sam Adams Upper Deck, an outdoor dining and cocktail space, opened last month at Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square. The outdoor venue has lounge seating, cafe-style tables, a bar, large-screen TVs, fire pits, overhead bistro lights, and a capacity of up to 100 guests for private events.

In Seaport, Salt & Straw is opening at the newly renovated Commonwealth Pier, 200 Seaport Blvd., in Boston this summer. The business is known for fun flavors and menu items like pear and blue cheese, Concord grape nut crumble and cinnamon snickerdoodle.
Health cafe Life Alive will also open there, along with neighborhood kitchen Daily Provisions, which opened in May, and the famous Italian eatery Ci Siamo, which will open a second location of its New York City-based live-fire Italian restaurant.
Other outdoor options in the city include Woods Hill Pier 4, which has a 60-seat waterfront patio in the Seaport; Mare Oyster Bar in the North End; Scampo at the Liberty Hotel; Stephanie’s on Newbury; Saltie Girl; and Rochambeau.
South Street Diner has also reopened its outdoor patio near South Station, featuring a summer menu that includes lobster rolls, blueberry-lemon crumble pancakes, smoked beef brisket Benedict, fried chicken Chipotle sliders, spritzers, and mocktails.

Several patios in the Greater Boston region are also set up for summer dining.
Fireside Tavern in Sherborn has reopened its patio with a seasonal menu and a renovated inn. Harvest in Cambridge offers a partially covered patio with a fireplace, while Bar Enza at the Charles Hotel offers covered, heated patio dining.
Buttermilk & Bourbon at Arsenal Yards in Watertown and Puritan & Company in Cambridge both have covered patios, while The Lexington at Cambridge Crossing has a rooftop patio open for dinner Monday through Saturday.
The South Shore has several new and seasonal options, including Union Square Donuts, which is opening at Derby Street Shops in Hingham this summer.
Northern Spy in Canton offers outdoor patio dining with seasonal New England dishes.
Just Salad also opened a new location on Providence Highway in Dedham in May, marking the chain’s seventh Massachusetts location.

On the North Shore, Tonno in Wakefield is opening its downtown patio with coastal Italian dishes and red umbrellas for outdoor dining.
Post 1917 in Reading is preparing to debut The Deck, an outdoor area with seating for about 50 guests, live music on select days and what the restaurant describes as Reading’s only outdoor bar.
Karma also has outdoor dining in Burlington and Winchester, with sushi, cocktails and Asian fusion dishes.

In Peabody, Fogo de Chão and Shake Shack are both planned for Northshore Mall.
Central Massachusetts also has many good options for summer dining.
Yard House opened at The Shops at Blackstone Valley in Millbury in June.
CAVA and First Watch are also planned as part of Worcester’s Grove Street redevelopment.
George’s Coney Island is another summer stop. The Worcester restaurant has been serving hot dogs for more than a century and is located at 158 Southbridge St., according to the restaurant.
Cape Cod has a new outdoor summer destination in Dennis Port. Backyard by Foley’s opened with frozen cocktails, local food trucks and vendors, live music, lawn games, wellness programming and family-friendly activities.
The region also remains a summer destination for waterfront dining, lobster rolls, fried seafood and ice cream.
