DUXBURY, MA — The husband of 32-year-old Lindsay Clancy, the woman accused of strangling her young children in Duxbury Tuesday, leading to their deaths, asked for the public to forgive his wife in a statement shared on GoFundMe Saturday.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz previously announced that the Duxbury mother is in police custody and will be charged with two counts of homicide, three counts of strangulation, and assault and battery with a deadly weapon for the deaths of Cora Clancy, 5, and Dawson Clancy, 3, and the injury of their 8-month-old sibling Callan. Officials confirmed Friday that the 8-month-old had also died.

"Cora, Dawson, and Callan were the essence of my life and I’m completely lost without them," Patrick Clancy wrote. "My family was the best thing that ever happened to me. I took so much pride in being Lindsay’s husband and a dad to Cora, Dawson, and Callan."

In lengthy tributes to each of his children, Patrick Clancy described Cora as "so caring" with an infectious laugh and love of baby dolls and princesses, Dawson as a "humorous and generous" little boy whose best quality was his "pure kindness," and Callan as the easy-going child who was "happy and vibrant" and always smiling.

Writing that his wife Linsday Clancy has been portrayed "largely by people who have never met her and never knew who the real Lindsay was," Patrick Clancy said that his marriage was "wonderful and diametrically grew stronger as her condition rapidly worsened."

"We habitually started every morning with a passionate hug, yielding a sigh of relief like we had each received the perfect medicine,"Patrick Clancy recalled. "We mutually understood the reality that people can have bad days, but we stuck to the rule that when one of us got lost, the other was always there to bring them home, always."

Massachusetts General Hospital previously told NBC10 reporter Abbey Niezgoda that Lindsay Clancy works at the hospital, and her husband confirmed that she "loved being a nurse."

"But nothing matched her intense love for our kids and dedication to being a mother," Patrick Clancy wrote. "I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have. The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone - me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients. The very fibers of her soul are loving. All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace."

The double homicide happened Tuesday night at a home along Summer Street in Duxbury. Police went to the home around 6 p.m. after Patrick Clancy called 911 to report that his wife had attempted suicide by jumping out a window at their home.

Inside the home, police found the children with "obvious signs of trauma." The two older children were pronounced dead at a local hospital, and their sibling was flown to a hospital in Boston for treatment and later died.
