Search Continues For Missing Man After Deadly Fall Into Water
Jerry Boucher and Kit Boucher are believed to have been walking their dog near First Encounter Beach before falling into the frigid water. Kit Boucher died as a result of the incident, while Jerry Boucher has not yet been found.

MA Cardiologist Practiced While Impaired, State Board Says
Dr. Lucian M. Neville was suspended by The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine after he admitted to practicing medicine while impaired. However, Neville was allowed to keep working under a probation agreement after reportedly demonstrating he was fit to practice again.
Mass Lottery Ticket Worth $2 Million Sold At North Andover Store
The winning ticket was sold to Rebecca McGregor, a trustee for the Geydelin Wonder Trust of Boston. It was sold Dec. 17 at Winners Corner Market at 2302 Turnpike St. in North Andover. The winning numbers for the drawing that December day were 25-33-53-62-66 with Powerball number 17. The estimated jackpot was $1.27 billion.

While the arctic air that punished New England for much of the past two months has receded into northern Canada, the National Weather Service says there are still several chances for wintry weather in the next week. The NWS said that areas along and north of the frontal boundary could have up to a 60 percent chance of seeing three inches or more of snow on Wednesday, with the highest amounts across northern Massachusetts. Areas on the South Shore, South Coast and Cape will likely see mostly cold rain. After a nice day on Thursday with sunny skies and a high of 38 degrees, snow showers move back in for Friday afternoon and lasts into Friday night, with a consistent chance of snow throughout the following three days.

The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is hosting 86 free, fun and educational programs throughout the state during February school vacation week. From winter hikes, snowshoeing with more than a solid foot of base still on many trails, to public skating, to museums, Patch has compiled some fun things to do without spending the whole day traveling or spending too much money.
Here Are MA's Top 10 Safest Cities, Study Says
The rankings from Safewise "are intended to highlight cities with low per capita crime and ignite conversation and action around how to make all cities and communities safer.” Property crime has increased slightly in recent years, rising from 11.3 incidents per 1,000 people in 2024 to 11.37 incidents in this year's report. The number one way Massachusetts residents protect their property is with security cameras, followed by security systems. Overall, Massachusetts fared well in the study. The violent crime rate in the Bay State is 3.14 incidents per 1,000 people, which is lower than the national average of 4.43.
