Father In Acton Triple-Stabbing Dies Of Injuries
John DiCristina was stabbed by his son with a pair of scissors last week, prosecutors said.

ACTON, MA — The father of the man suspected of stabbing his parents and girlfriend with scissors last week has died. John DiCristina, 57, died Tuesday of injuries prosecutors said came as a result of his son's attack on Thursday.
Benjamin DiCristina, 25, was arrested at a Haynes Court home where police found the three victims suffering from stab and slash wounds. The Middlesex DA's Office said Friday John DiCristina was not expected to survive. Benjamin DiCristina's 28-year-old girlfriend was hospitalized with serious injuries. His 56-year-old mother was released after treatment for superficial injuries.
Benjamin DiCristina was ordered held without bail at his Friday arraignment in Concord District Court. He will undergo a mental health evaluation.

Prosecutors said DiCristina strangled his girlfriend and stabbed her in the chest late Thursday night. He then cut his mother before stabbing his father multiple times in the head and neck.
One of the women was able to call 911 during the attacks.

Prosecutors said his family had sought mental health treatment for him earlier in the day. He had been assessed and released.
DiCristina was charged with two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery and strangulation.
