Acton Stabbing Suspect Charged With Father's Murder

Benjamin DiCristina has been charged in the death of his father after John DiCristina succumbed to injuries suffered in last week's violence

ACTON, MA — The Acton man who prosecutors said stabbed his parents and girlfriend with a pair of scissors last week has been charged with murder after his father died.

Benjamin DiCristina, 25, was charged in the death of his father, 57-year-old John DiCristina, who passed away at Lahey Hospital as a result of the injuries sustained last Thursday.

Benjamin DiCristina will be arraigned on the murder charge Oct. 25 in Concord District Court. He is currently being held without bail and must undergo a mental health evaluation.

The Middlesex District Attorney's Office said Benjamin DiCristina was arrested at a Haynes Court home where police found the three victims suffering from stab and slash wounds. His 28-year-old girlfriend was hospitalized with serious injuries. His 56-year-old mother was released after treatment for superficial injuries.

Benjamin DiCristina was already arraigned on Friday on two counts of armed assault with intent to murder, two counts of assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery and strangulation in connection.
